About Daniel Vasquez

Daniel Vasquez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animation & Motion Graphics at International University Canada, where he teaches and supports students across the School of Creative Media & Design. His academic work focuses on 2D animation, examining how fundamental animation principles are applied to create compelling visual storytelling across film, television, and digital media.

Throughout his early academic career, Daniel Vasquez has built a teaching approach grounded in classical animation fundamentals, helping students understand timing, spacing, weight, and character movement before introducing them to more advanced digital animation tools. He believes that a strong foundation in animation principles translates across any software or production pipeline students may encounter professionally.

In his courses, Daniel Vasquez draws on animation case studies, frame-by-frame analysis, and current industry production techniques to help students build practical, employable animation skills. Students explore topics such as character animation, storyboarding, timing and motion principles, and the digital tools widely used in professional 2D animation production.

As an Assistant Professor within the Department of Animation & Motion Graphics, Daniel Vasquez also supports curriculum development that reflects current industry software and production workflows. He works closely with senior faculty across the School of Creative Media & Design to ensure that coursework prepares students for real production environments in animation studios and motion graphics teams.

Daniel Vasquez is especially attentive to helping students build a strong animation portfolio and demo reel, recognizing that practical, polished project work is often the deciding factor in animation hiring decisions. He designs coursework around achievable but professionally relevant animation projects, helping students build confidence alongside technical skill.

Recognizing that many of his students are working professionals studying online, Daniel Vasquez structures his courses with clear technique breakdowns, accessible software tutorials, and consistent opportunities for feedback on animation work. His approach to online teaching emphasizes building a disciplined animation practice that students can continue developing independently.

Students who study under Daniel Vasquez often highlight his ability to break down complex animation techniques into clear, practiceable steps. His long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the technical skill and storytelling sense needed to launch successful careers in animation and motion graphics production.
