About Priscilla Hatfield

Priscilla Hatfield is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Multimedia Design at International University Canada, where she teaches and supports students across the School of Creative Media & Design. Her academic work focuses on interactive media, examining how text, image, audio, and video are combined to create engaging cross-platform content experiences for web, mobile, and digital installation environments.

Throughout her early academic career, Priscilla Hatfield has built a teaching approach grounded in hands-on, project-based learning, helping students understand how different media formats work together to communicate a unified message across multiple platforms. She encourages students to think holistically about content design rather than treating video, audio, and visual design as separate, disconnected skills.

In her courses, Priscilla Hatfield draws on multimedia project case studies, interactive content frameworks, and current research in digital media production to help students build practical, employable skills. Students explore topics such as multimedia storytelling, basic audio and video editing, interactive content design, and the cross-platform considerations required when content needs to work across web, mobile, and other digital channels.

As an Assistant Professor within the Department of Multimedia Design, Priscilla Hatfield also supports curriculum development that reflects current digital media production tools and platform requirements. She works closely with senior faculty across the School of Creative Media & Design to ensure that coursework prepares students for the varied production environments multimedia designers encounter professionally.

Priscilla Hatfield is especially attentive to helping students build a versatile, well-rounded multimedia portfolio, recognizing that many entry-level multimedia design roles require comfort across several media formats rather than deep specialization in just one. She designs coursework around varied, achievable multimedia projects that help students build this versatility.

Recognizing that many of her students are working professionals studying online, Priscilla Hatfield structures her courses with accessible production tools, clear project milestones, and consistent opportunities for feedback. Her approach to online teaching emphasizes building a practical, adaptable multimedia skill set that students can apply across different employer needs.

Students who study under Priscilla Hatfield often highlight her ability to make multimedia production feel approachable and genuinely creative. Her long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the cross-platform content skills needed to succeed in multimedia design, digital content, and creative media careers.
