About Claudia Esteban

Claudia Esteban is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science at International University Canada, where she teaches and supports students across the School of Agriculture & Environment. Her academic work focuses on ecosystem conservation, examining how natural habitats, species populations, and biodiversity are protected and restored in the face of human development and environmental change.

Throughout her early academic career, Claudia Esteban has built a teaching approach grounded in field-based ecological understanding, helping students learn to assess ecosystem health and identify conservation priorities using established scientific methods. She encourages students to connect ecological theory with the practical realities of conservation work, including limited resources and competing land-use pressures.

In her courses, Claudia Esteban draws on conservation case studies, biodiversity assessment methods, and current research in ecosystem management to help students build practical scientific skills. Students explore topics such as habitat assessment, species population monitoring, protected area management, and the balance between conservation goals and community or economic needs.

As an Assistant Professor within the Department of Environmental Science, Claudia Esteban also supports curriculum development that reflects current conservation science and emerging monitoring technologies. She works closely with senior faculty across the School of Agriculture & Environment to ensure that coursework remains grounded in rigorous ecological science while addressing real-world conservation challenges.

Claudia Esteban is especially attentive to helping students understand conservation as a field that requires balancing ecological priorities with human community needs, recognizing that successful conservation often depends on local community involvement and support. She designs coursework that encourages students to consider conservation strategies that are both ecologically sound and socially sustainable.

Recognizing that many of her students are working professionals studying online, Claudia Esteban structures her courses with accessible case studies, clear scientific frameworks, and consistent opportunities for applied discussion. Her approach to online teaching emphasizes building practical conservation assessment skills that students can apply directly within their own regional contexts.

Students who study under Claudia Esteban often highlight her ability to connect ecological science with genuinely practical conservation strategy. Her long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the scientific and strategic skills needed to support careers in conservation science, ecosystem management, and biodiversity protection.
