About Anthony Sorensen

Anthony Sorensen is an Associate Professor in the Department of International Business at International University Canada, where he teaches and mentors students across the School of Business. His academic work focuses on global supply chain management, examining how companies coordinate sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution across international networks while managing cost, risk, and reliability considerations.

Throughout his academic career, Anthony Sorensen has developed a teaching approach that connects supply chain theory with the practical realities of managing international logistics networks, helping students understand how global supply chains are designed to balance efficiency with resilience against disruption. He encourages students to consider supply chain decisions through both cost optimization and risk management lenses.

In his courses, Anthony Sorensen draws on global supply chain case studies, logistics network frameworks, and current research in international supply chain management to help students understand the strategic and operational dimensions of managing global supply networks. Students explore topics such as international sourcing strategy, cross-border logistics coordination, supply chain risk management, and the impact of trade policy and geopolitical factors on global supply chain design.

As an Associate Professor within the Department of International Business, Anthony Sorensen also contributes to curriculum planning that prepares students for careers managing complex international supply chain operations. He works closely with colleagues across the School of Business to ensure that coursework reflects current challenges facing global supply chain managers, including disruption resilience and sustainability considerations.

Anthony Sorensen places particular emphasis on helping students understand supply chain resilience, recognizing that recent global disruptions have highlighted the risks of overly lean, single-source supply chain designs. He designs coursework that encourages students to balance efficiency with appropriate redundancy and risk diversification.

Recognizing that many of his students are working professionals studying online, Anthony Sorensen structures his courses with accessible logistics frameworks, clear case studies, and consistent opportunities for applied discussion. His approach to online teaching emphasizes building practical supply chain management skills that students can apply directly within international business roles.

Students who study under Anthony Sorensen often highlight his ability to make global supply chain management feel strategically grounded and operationally practical. His long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the skills needed to support careers in international supply chain management, logistics, and global operations.
