About Frank Castellano

Frank Castellano is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Science at International University Canada, where he teaches and mentors students across the School of Agriculture & Environment. His academic work focuses on soil science and crop production, examining how soil health, nutrient management, and cultivation practices influence agricultural productivity and long-term land sustainability.

Throughout his academic career, Frank Castellano has developed a teaching approach grounded in practical soil and crop management, helping students understand the biological, chemical, and physical properties of soil that directly affect plant growth and yield. He encourages students to approach crop production decisions with a clear understanding of the underlying soil science driving those outcomes.

In his courses, Frank Castellano draws on soil management case studies, crop production research, and current developments in sustainable farming practices to help students build practical agricultural skills. Students explore topics such as soil fertility management, crop rotation strategies, nutrient cycling, and techniques for maintaining soil health over multiple growing seasons.

As an Associate Professor within the Department of Agricultural Science, Frank Castellano also contributes to curriculum planning that reflects current best practices in sustainable soil and crop management. He works closely with colleagues across the School of Agriculture & Environment to ensure that coursework remains relevant to farmers and agricultural professionals working in diverse soil and climate conditions.

Frank Castellano places particular emphasis on helping students understand soil management as a long-term investment in land productivity, recognizing that short-term yield gains can sometimes come at the cost of long-term soil health. He designs coursework that encourages students to evaluate crop production decisions with both immediate and long-term sustainability in mind.

Recognizing that many of his students are working professionals studying online, Frank Castellano structures his courses with accessible soil science explanations, clear management frameworks, and consistent opportunities for applied discussion. His approach to online teaching emphasizes building practical soil and crop management skills that students can apply directly within their own farming contexts.

Students who study under Frank Castellano often highlight his ability to make soil science practical and directly relevant to real crop production decisions. His long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the scientific and practical skills needed to support careers in agricultural science, crop production, and sustainable farming.
