About Imran Tariq

Imran Tariq is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at International University Canada, where he teaches and supports students across the School of Arts & Social Sciences. His academic work focuses on contemporary literature and composition, examining how modern literary works reflect social change while helping students develop strong academic writing skills.

Throughout his early academic career, Imran Tariq has built a teaching approach that connects close literary reading with practical composition instruction, helping students understand that strong analytical writing skills develop alongside careful, thoughtful reading practice. He encourages students to see literary analysis and academic writing as mutually reinforcing skills rather than separate subjects.

In his courses, Imran Tariq draws on contemporary literary works, composition pedagogy research, and current approaches to academic writing instruction to help students build practical skills they can apply across their academic and professional lives. Students explore topics such as contemporary fiction analysis, academic essay structure, argumentative writing techniques, and the editing and revision processes that strengthen written work.

As an Assistant Professor within the Department of English, Imran Tariq also supports curriculum development that reflects contemporary literary trends and evolving best practices in writing instruction. He works closely with senior faculty across the School of Arts & Social Sciences to ensure that coursework helps students build both literary appreciation and practical writing competence.

Imran Tariq is especially attentive to supporting students for whom academic writing in English may present particular challenges, recognizing that many of his students study in a second or additional language. He designs coursework with clear writing frameworks and constructive feedback processes to help all students build confidence in their academic writing.

Recognizing that many of his students are working professionals studying online, Imran Tariq structures his courses with accessible literary texts, clear writing guides, and consistent opportunities for feedback on written work. His approach to online teaching emphasizes building practical writing skills that students can apply across academic and professional contexts.

Students who study under Imran Tariq often highlight his ability to make literary analysis and academic writing feel approachable and genuinely useful. His long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the reading and writing skills needed to succeed in further academic study and professional communication.
