About Marcus Delacroix

Marcus Delacroix is a Professor in the Department of Animation & Motion Graphics at International University Canada, where he teaches and mentors students across the School of Creative Media & Design. His academic work focuses on animation direction, examining how creative leads guide visual style, narrative consistency, and production quality across full animation projects from concept through final delivery.

Throughout his academic career, Marcus Delacroix has developed a teaching approach that connects technical animation craft with the leadership and creative decision-making required to direct full productions. He encourages students to think beyond individual scenes or shots and consider how a director maintains creative vision and quality consistency across an entire animated project.

In his courses, Marcus Delacroix draws on production case studies, director commentary analysis, and current research in animation production management to help students understand both the creative and managerial dimensions of animation direction. Students explore topics such as visual style development, team creative leadership, production scheduling, and the feedback processes directors use to maintain quality across large animation teams.

As a Professor within the Department of Animation & Motion Graphics, Marcus Delacroix plays a leading role in shaping curriculum that prepares students for creative leadership roles within animation and motion graphics studios. He works closely with colleagues across the School of Creative Media & Design to ensure that coursework reflects current industry production practices and the leadership skills required at the director level.

Marcus Delacroix is particularly committed to mentoring students who aspire to creative leadership positions, helping them develop the communication and decision-making skills required to guide animation teams while maintaining a clear creative vision. He designs coursework that combines creative direction theory with practical exercises in giving and receiving production feedback.

Recognizing that many of his students are working professionals studying online, Marcus Delacroix structures his courses with accessible production case studies, clear leadership frameworks, and consistent opportunities for applied discussion. His approach to online teaching emphasizes developing the kind of creative leadership judgment that translates directly into readiness for director-level animation roles.

Students who study under Marcus Delacroix often highlight his ability to connect animation craft with genuine production leadership skill-building. His long-term goal as an educator is to help students develop the creative vision and leadership capability needed to advance into director and senior creative roles within animation and motion graphics studios.
